Our Story
RVA’s Black Farmer’s Market was born in celebration of cultural togetherness and resilience
RVA’s Black Farmer’s Market was founded in August 2020, born in celebration of cultural togetherness and resilience. In a time of uncertainty, RVA’s Black Farmer’s Market became a safe space for all Richmonders to feel taken care of during hard times. We celebrate Black farmers and home growers throughout Virginia and nationwide. We celebrate our artisans and merchant vendors, who bring aromatic spices, delicious breads and baked goods, breath-taking floral bouquets and candles to lift your spirits.
We are a forever-growing market and we are looking to partner with and support Black-owned farms. Our dream is to create an authentic market experience, where the customer’s leave with items they would get from their neighborhood grocery store. This is where we support our local small businesses everywhere we turn. Get local honey from a farmer based in Richmond’s East End, or fresh juice from a merchant vendor. We take care of each other, through and through, and we want to be able to take good care of you!
